Sirens of the Titan

The London Bubble Theatre Company staged an adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut Jr's 1959 classic tale Sirens of the Titan outside in Hilly Fields, London. The staging was powered by the Universal Will to Become (UWTB), the greatest imaginable power source in the Universe.

In this photo Winston Rumfoord exiles Malachi Constant from Earth to Titan.

Ancient Agora in Athens

One of the most magical places in the world. On the surface it seems a lonely side of an urban hill covered in leafy brush and peculiar characters. This texture is very real but pass freely through one of its many entrances and you find yourself in spaces of absolute harmony. Philosophical reflections unplugged. The resonance of impromptu citizen assmblies 600 BC is too strong for even the most distracted of modern temperaments.

Global Color Usage by Season

On the left are colors from Winter 2008 and on the right colors from Summer 2009. Data is from a global view of color usage by Adobe users via the Kuler community pulse.

Take a look at the chart down the spine to see that differences aren't as subtle as they might first appear. Warm oranges contrast with cool reds. Winter plays the blues and purples. Coming from web and graphic designers we can only assume sites and materials are designed in concert with the seasons. Maybe it also reflects a more subtle aesthetic bond between humanity and nature?

What is the Color of Love?

"In our life there is a single color, as on an artist's palette, which provides the meaning of life and art. It is the color of love." - Marc Chagall

So which one is it? Image includes all 16,777,216 colors of the screen rainbow formed from all combinations of 256 possible variations of Red Green Blue (RGB). Sometimes code really comes in handy as it would be a real challenge to name all these over 16 million colors. But somehow 255,0,255 isn't as sexy as Magenta.

Decoding Art at the V & A

Decode: Digital Design Sensations is current exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Themes are CODE, INTERACTIVITY and NETWORK.

A chance to see your work on the London Underground

The V&A has commissioned Karsten Schmidt to design a digital identity for the Decode exhibition using open source code. We are giving you the opportunity to recode Karsten's work and create your own original artwork. If we love your work it could even become the new Decode identity.

Following are some stills from experimenting with Decoding Twae.tv (download and interact directly with the source code)
